How many passengers can you carry in a limousine? Eight is the maximum. As a Private Hire Licensed operator Hewkin Executive is legally able to carry up to 8 passengers in a limousine. All of our vehicles are licensed with Cannock Chase District Council and all carry a plate detailing the terms of the licence including the number of passengers that can be carried in that vehicle. Under an exemption clause in the Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1976 Section 75/3 because the vehicle is used for luxury or executive travel the plate carried by the vehicle is mounted inside the boot. Top of Page Do you have to have a special licence to drive a limousine? If the vehicle is licensed by a local authority for private hire, then yes the driver must hold a private hire license from that local authority. However, there is no special licensing required to drive a limousine if the vehicle is not local authority licensed. Top of Page Why is it expensive so hire a limousine and why doesn’t everyone charge the same? Over the years, as everyday cars do, limousines have changed in terms of shape, style and the features available for the passengers. Operators can pay between £15,000 and £100,000 for a limousine depending upon its age, mileage and features so the price you pay will be relative to the amount of money the operator has invested in the vehicle. A reputable operator will invest the time and money not only in to the original purchase of the limousine but also in ensuring that the vehicles are fully licensed to provide their clients with an enjoyable and entertaining experience. In the case of limousine hire it is true that ‘you get what you pay for’ and would not recommend that a decision to book a limousine is based on price alone. Hewkin Executive would welcome you to their operating centre in Cannock so you can view the vehicle you wish to book and the associated licences and insurance. We pride ourselves on being transparent in our operation and welcome your interest in the operation of our business. When booking a limousine we would recommend that you always take the following steps to satisfy yourself that the vehicle you are booking is well maintained and presented: • Request to view the limousine so you know which vehicle you are booking • Ask for a quote in writing and ensure that you have signed a booking contract stating the collection and drop off details • Request to see the appropriate licences and insurance for the limousine • Don’t go for the cheapest deal you can find as you will probably be disappointed Top of Page Can I smoke in the vehicle? No. All of the vehicles available for hire are classed as a workplace and therefore due to the law change on 1st July 2007 it is illegal to smoke in any of Hewkin Executive’s vehicles. Top of Page Do you provide alcohol in the vehicle? Yes Hewkin Executive holds a premises license for the supply of alcohol by retail and can therefore supply drinks for your journey. Top of Page What service can I expect to receive? Exceptional. Hewkin Executive provides a door to door service on every journey in a well maintained and immaculately presented vehicle. Regardless of whether you have booked a people carrier for an airport transfer, a limousine for a wedding or school prom or are travelling in an executive saloon between business meetings your vehicle will be driven by a professional and courteous uniformed chauffeur. Top of Page Over what area and distance do you operate? Although our operating centre is in Cannock, Staffordshire we hold a Private Hire Operator’s licence which enables us to operator across the country and we are happy to do so. Top of Page Can you collect and drop off at more than one address? All prices quoted are based on your specific requirements and will take in to account the number of collection and drop off points requested. In the case of a limousine it may not be possible to access certain addresses due to the manoeuvrability of the vehicle so all collection and pick up points must be agreed in advance of your booking and you will be asked to sign a vehicle schedule confirming these details prior to your booking. Top of Page What cars do you operate? We have a fleet of Chrysler vehicles and can cater for between 1 and 8 passengers. Please have a look at the Fleet Vehicles page for information and photographs of all our vehicles. You would be more than welcome to come and view our fleet at our operating centre in Cannock. Top of Page How far in advance do I need to book? We recommend you book your chosen vehicle as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. During the popular school prom, Ascot and wedding seasons, dates get booked up quite some time in advance. Top of Page When will I have to pay? In order to secure your booking a 50% deposit is required. Full payment is normally required 14 days in advance of the vehicle hire although it does depend on the purpose of the hire. Please read the Terms & Conditions for further information. Top of Page If I cancel do I get a refund? This will depend on how far in advance you wish to cancel your booking, in most cases the booking fee will be non refundable. Please read the Terms & Conditions for further information. Top of Page Do you charge set rates? Hewkin Executive prides itself on tailoring your journey so the hire charge will be appropriate to your specific requirements such as the number of collections and the distance and time of travel. Prices are based on the hire of the vehicle not the number of passengers. Top of Page I have been offered a lower price by another company, will you match it? We will try. If you find that another private hire operator is able to offer you a cheaper price for a similarly licensed vehicle we will review our quotation and advise you if we are able to match it. Due to the relative originality of our vehicles and the service we offer it is unlikely that you will find a comparable fully licensed operator in the area. Top of Page Do you charge for any damages? Hewkin Executive ask you to respect our vehicles as are always exceptionally presented. Unfortunately, our clients must accept financial responsibility for any behaviour that results in part of the vehicle being damaged. Prior to the trip your chauffeur will provide instructions as to the proper use of the vehicle’s lighting, radio/stereo/DVD equipment and interior components including the upholstery. Hewkin Executive reserves the right to charge a fee for any excessive soiling or spillage that requires the vehicle to be professionally cleaned. Please read the Terms and Conditions for further information. Top of Page What do I do if I discover that I have accidentally left something in one of your vehicles? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Arrangements should be made between the hirer and Hewkin Executive for collection of any lost property. In accordance with Cannock Chase District Council’s Licensing Policy and lost property not claimed within 48 hours will be passed to the local police.Top of Page The Worlds Longest limo is a limousine built by Jay Ohrberg of Burbank Califoria.
